Patchell-Evans Doubles Up Entrepreneur Win
Recently, when David Patchell-Evans, the founder and CEO of the Goodlife Fitness Clubs, Canada's largest privately owned chain, was inducted into the Entrepreneur of the Year Institute, he was honored not oncebut twice. First, the institute singled him out from among the CEOs of 4011 Canadian companies as its Entrepreneur of the Year for Ontario, where the 123-club chain is based. Then, the judging panel decided that Patchell-Evans qualified for an additional honora special citation for Customer-Driven Excellence.
"I'm completely humbled by the recognition and, simultaneously, inspired to do better and do more," responds Patchell-Evans. "I believe that personal happiness lies not just in attaining your goals, but in living them on a daily basis. The thousands of people who get in shape, look and feel good, and live longer are the cake in my life. This award is the icing on that cake."
The Entrepreneur of the Year Institute is sponsored by Ernst and Young. Roynant Capital, and the Canadian media companies of La Presse, National Post, and RDI.
David Patchell-Evans is a member of The Leading Edge Roundtable.
